A Multi-Purpose Building For The Reconstructive Plastic   Surgery And Burns Centre Commissioned

The Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and Burns Centre have had a new  multi purpose-building complex for the centre commissioned.

The building, which was started a few years ago, is a multi purpose building meant to enhance and increase the services the centre renders to the people of Ghana and was funded by Ghana Government.
 
Commissioning the building, the First Lady of Ghana Her Excellency Mrs. Naadu Mills thanked the Government for providing the funding. She was very much appreciative and thankful, for the beautiful work done and hoped that all would be done to maintain the building.
 
Her Excellency Mrs. Naadu Mills also thanked the Management of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Centre for their supervising role that has seen the building to its completion. The building would have the following, the new OPD with Wound Dressing facilities, a Laboratory, Records/Data Processing Unit, Patients Accommodation, and a state of the art Conference room. It would also have living quarters for visiting surgeons, a Laundry unit and offices for all categories of staffs. Once this is done it would free more patient accommodation in the old block. This would increase the capacity of the Centre.
 
Present at the ceremony were the Hon Minister of Health Dr Kumbour, the Chairman of the Hospital Board Rev Prof A S Ayittey, and Prof O. Nartey CEO and members of his management team.
 
Dr. Albert Paintsil, Director of the centre thanked the Government of Ghana and all who helped during the time of the project. He also promised that the building would be maintained and put to good use.
